Arrests Continue In Thorn Prisoner Case

Three more men charged with forcing Deputy Sheriff Thorn to surrender prisoner Rufus Hostin were arrested. Garland Smith and Edward Cuddy came from Pulaski county Virginia and Sam Jarvis, taken at Crane Creek, was brought by Deputy U. S. Marshal S. D. Smith yesterday. The Pulaski arrests returned without a requisition.

Robbery attempt at Panhandle Station ends with fatality

A safe at Wheeling West Virginia Panhandle passenger station was blasted by burglars. One robber, identified as John Doe, died three hours after being shot by officers Patrick Gilligan and Driscoll. New Railroad for Raleigh County Seeks Bond Support
