How Bas Jim Wright Went to His Death
The Wright gang terrorized Hawkins and Hancock counties Tennessee and Scott county Virginia for years. Deputy Sheriff Carter and eight men trapped Jim Wright and Templeton at Piney Grove Hawkins county. Templeton died in a battle. George Wright was wounded, then surrendered to authorities. Jim Wright was killed in a morning clash near Gate City Virginia after a lengthy pursuit. the posse boasted of success and public viewing followed.
