Bluefield chamber of commerce will hold a referendum to decide whether to act on a proposed railroad freight rate increase. The board, led by James Mann, will determine if the chamber should oppose or endorse the boost and whether to create a convention bureau with the chamber.
State police patrolled Pittsburgh polling places as a group attacked a voter registration center. At least 16 women suffered a fractured hand and three were bruised and cut in a disturbance on Penn Avenue. Registrars reported two groups forced entry, furniture was overturned, and attempts were made to block registrations for those lacking proof of district residency.
Migttwala, a 46 year old, and Grose, 27, plus Lipka and others in Mishawaka, ride to drainage ditch sites by private planes. Barney Dempsey aged 48 brother of Jack Dempsey former heavyweight boxing champion died in Los Angeles after an attack of acute indigestion. He operated the Manhattan Ruminalum here and handled Jack Dempsey's local business while the champion trained in Los Angeles.
