Bluefield man gets probation for contempt plea
A Bluefield Virginia man Dennis Ray Clark 45 pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and received one year of probation in U S District Court on Tuesday for attempting to obtain information about a juror in a federal capital murder trial. The case stems from Clark asking Steve Hypes to determine if a juror would discuss the trial in hopes of a mistrial. The judge imposed a 100 dollar special assessment and barred Clark from contacting any juror or witness in the Ealy case.
