75,000 Plus Attend Bridge Day at New River Gorge
Fayetteville's Bridge Day draws an estimated 75,000 visitors to the New River Gorge Bridge for the 33rd annual event featuring about 450 BASE jumpers from around the world. Jumpmaster Mick Knutsen drives crowd energy while Lonnie Bissonnette, a paraplegic jumper, returns to the edge seeking new challenges. Wedding vows precede a joint bridge jump by Erika Terranova and Patrick Steiner of Lockport New York, who celebrate with cake at an igloo sponsored by Subaru.
