Mercer Civil Air Patrol unit reports busy productive year

Mercer County Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol, led by Major William H. Vance, describes a busy spring and summer with drug task force briefing by Sgt. A D Beasley, a Camp Creek training camp, and trips to Washington D C Dayton and Charlotte. Cadets and seniors earned awards, including National Communicator of the Year for Major Robert Bell and multiple first prizes in Drug Demand Reduction Essay and model building contests. The unit also received Wing Emergency Services Ground Support Award and several Commander’s Commendations for notable service.
