Budget Cuts Cloud Wolfe Boulder Removal Effort

The Route 20 boulder removal project in West Virginia faces funding uncertainty as federal budget cuts threaten Rural Abandoned Mines Program support. FSCS officials warn even approved priority status may not speed construction, given 40 priority projects ahead. If RAMP fails, other agencies may fund it, but timelines remain years. The project hinges on a submitted application pending approval and possible Roads for Jobs bond funding if FSCS denies.
