Trial continues in McDowell County case over Dorothy Mitchell death
The McDowell County Correctional Facility reported the woman remains jailed as investigators traced Mitchells body to a wooded area near the Mercer McDowell line. Trooper Miller described the scene with a purse and folded clothes found at the coke oven site while Whitt confessed and Day's letters were argued over by experts. The defense called handwriting expert Harold Rodin who testified the letters were written by Day though not absolutely certain.
