Bland County fires animal control officer over unauthorized traffic stop
Bland County officials say Animal Control Officer Keith Myers was dismissed after initiating a traffic stop without jurisdiction. Sheriff’s Chief Deputy James R. Bruce notes he did not have traffic enforcement authority and the case was referred to County Administrator Ron Hachey, who confirmed Myers was fired last Friday and a search is on for a replacement.
