Post Office Employes Honor Jennings Monroe
Employees of the post office gathered at 10 a.m. Thursday to honor Jennings B. Monroe, who retired October 31 after 31 years of service. He received a Postmaster General citation and a retirement certificate signed by Arthur Summerfield, with cordial expressions from coworkers. Monroe earned a National Safety Council safety award two months earlier and spent the last decade delivering parcel post by truck.

Church World Service issues an urgent appeal for clothing and blankets to aid relief in Hungary and the Middle East. A collection center operates in Princeton City Hall during the week of December 2, with shipments to New Windsor Maryland for overseas delivery. Donations may be sent to Rev James Fogg treasurer of the Greater Princeton Ministerial Association. Also urged are assurances for Hungarian refugees to be admitted to the United States. The committee stresses support for the appeal. About one fifth of public high school systems in the United States offer automobile driver education programs.
