In Princeton and Bluefield area court actions a group of appeal cases concluded. Juries favored defendants in two Beggs Walker and Beggs suits against Roy Dinkins while awarding Bezes, and awarded $182 to H G Bennett against Arthur Goforth with $121.75 in magistrate court. Other docket items include cases against American Loan Company and Foss Maurice, plus an ejectment action and three bastardy cases.
The Princeton American Legion post extended its drive for clothing and Behoal books for underprivileged children. Legion volunteers visited Thorn Caperton Mercer Knob and a colored school, distributing outfits to 35 children and tallying 183 needing clothes. Committee chair M. B. Greer urged public support and announced a Wings Over Ethiopia screening at the local theater to aid the campaign.
Mayor H B H Witten leads Princeton to establish a WPA sewing room on the Masonic building’s first floor to employ women. City contributions cover utilities with expected local payrolls from Mercer county WPA funds. sewing rooms planned for Bluefield Princeton Athens Matoka and Bramwell.

King posted bond after appearing before City Judge C Frank Wright.
A large gathering of sportsmen is expected at the Memorial building Monday evening for a banquet honoring a deer killed by Nelson Harrah. Harrah, returning from Mullens, reportedly stopped to watch the deer and it ran into a fence, dying. The deer was refrigerated and later served at the banquet with tickets sold. funds intended to replenish deer in McDowell County. The event features a program and guest speakers including Ross of Huntington and state conservation officials, with wildlife pictures to follow.

Mrs Haven Hunter returns to Logan after hospital stay with husband at Grace Hospital. Minnie Carrie Ivy Darla and Rose Hylton visit sister Mrs R Z Bayly and Mr Early in Huntington.
