Fatal rifle accident claims teen in Princeton home
A 14-year-old Spanishburg boy was killed when a .22 rifle discharged while his 16-year-old brother checked the gun's safety at a Princeton home near Spanishburg School. The incident occurred about 4 15 p.m. two brothers had earlier shot cans, the younger sat by a stove, the older retrieved the rifle, and a single shot struck the 14-year-old in the chest. The Princeton Rescue Squad rushed him to hospital where he died on arrival. Authorities say the case is ruled an accident and no charges yet filed. identities withheld pending notification.
