Man Shot in Bland County Thanksgiving Eve Hunting Accident
Curtis Johnson a 24 year old Bluefield resident was killed in Bland County when his father in law Richard Brewer mistook him for a deer during a hunting trip at the foot of Brushy Mountain near Bastian. Johnson worked at Cole’s Bakery in Bluefield. Brewer fired about 30 yards away after noticing a white cap flash. Police continue investigation with no charges filed. Johnson leaves a wife and two children. Funeral arrangements are pending.
