West Virginia Joins in Kennedy Memorial Honors

Gov. Barron leads West Virginians in a somber memorial for John F. Kennedy in Charleston with about 1,000 attendees at the Municipal Auditorium. Bishops and clergy urge unity and resolve to carry Kennedy’s ideals forward as streets go largely quiet during tributes across the state. A 21 gun salute marks services in Wheeling and requiem masses honor the late president.

Moose Initiation Ceremony Planned at Bluefield Lodge

Twenty new members will join in a regional initiation tonight at Bluefield Moose Lodge at 7 30. Secretary Carl Porter field says the Beck ley state champion degree team will stage the ceremony led by regional ritual director Frank Ubeta. A turkey dinner at 6 30 p m at Duhring Street lodge headquarters will precede the enrollment and entertainment follows the ceremony.

JFK Buried At Arlington

JFK laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery after a national day of mourning. Crowds swelled along the funeral route from the Capitol to Arlington as John F Kennedy was interred beneath the crest of a hill near the Curtis Lee mansion, with the Kennedy family present and mourners recalling a presidency cut short.
