Local N and W shops and maintenance crews will feel a coal miners strike starting Monday. Bluefield train schedules and mine runs will be cut, with shop forces reduced by at least 20 percent by Thursday. Further cuts depend on the walkout length as more layoffs follow. Virginian Railway also plans heavy reductions to operators and mechanical staff.
