Bluefield agencies market production as the company to dissolve. Organized fourteen years ago with Bramwell offices. It served as a clearing house for operators and was described as having excellent service.
News notes that twelve coal companies will stop shipping through The Pocahontas Company of Bramwell effective April 1 1910 leaving only a few operators to continue under other offices in Bluefield. The Pocahontas Company once a central clearing house will no longer exist.
Grand Rapids is hosting the Michigan Equal Suffrage Association annual convention with several hundred delegates. Noted leaders Mrs. Pillip Snowden and Rev. Carolina Bartlett Crane are among speakers as the group plans a campaign for Michigan women's enfranchisement.
Cleveland news reports Ty Cobb star of the Detroit American League baseball club faced common pleas court today on an assault charge. George Stanfield, a hotel watchman, was reportedly badly bruised during the Detroit visit to the city in early October. Cobb settled with the watchman, but the grand jury returned an indictment.
Ortis Hamilton former adjutant general of Washington state has been jailed in Olympia since last May on embezzlement charges. The report notes ongoing legal action and questions surrounding his case as officials pursue repayment and accountability.
The defendant faces trial tomorrow with the embezzlement count heard first. An alleged shortage of state funds amounts to more than 1110, derived from falsified purchases of ammunition and quartermaster supplies for state militia. The surplus is said to have been spent with a Seattle woman known as Florence Moore.
A Nov 22 report from Cuthbert Georgia states three people died and two were fatally injured when a speeding wedding party car crashed after driver Williams tried to light a cigarette. Victims named include Curtis Williams Fort Gaines Georgia James Shepard Edison Georgia Horace Shepard Edison Georgia and injured Helene Matox Coleman Georgia Mary Mattox Coleman Georgia. The car left Fort Gaines to Cuthbert then to Coleman and overturned on a bridge over the Georgia Central rail line.
Chicago voters head to a November 23 special election in the fifth district to fill William L. Lorimer’s senate vacancy. Three candidates contend as tariff policy splits factions: William J. Moxley backed by the regular Republican organization, Frank S. Ryan for the Democrats, and Dr. Carl L. Barnes an independent Republican opposing standpatters and Cannon influence. They urged the people of Buchanan county will secure a speedy and impartial trial for Howard Litle, noting Judge Burns pledged fairness and that southwest counties can conduct a trial without state troops.

Springfield, Ill, Nov. 22. Shelby M. Cullom, the oldest U.S. senator, marks his eightieth birthday. His career covers more than fifty years in public service, including four Illinois legislatures, two governorship terms, three terms in Congress, and a current fifth Senate term. He helped place Grant at the 1872 Republican convention and Legar in 1884, and has long been a Springfield resident since the 1850s.
Washington reports General James S. Clarkson will not be reappointed as surveyor of the port of New York. The decision follows a meeting where Timothy Woodruff demanded Clarkson's scalp, amid Republican patronage tensions in upper New York State.
A cyclone struck Dexter Missouri on November 22 demolishing fifteen houses and wrecking the county fair buildings. Two women and two children were injured as the storm carved a 300 foot wide by quarter mile long path. All hit structures were demolished.

A explorer went forty feet into the lower gallery finding knee deep water but no bodies nearby. The party holds hope of saving many miners alive and believes they sheltered toward the shaft end to endure a long siege of famine.
