Two mines in Norton areas halted operations as about 225 workers walked out over non recognition of the United Mine Workers. A union committee sought reinstatement but was rejected, prompting a street parade and renewed strike resolve.
The blaze at the Baby mine area keeps burning with no new developments. Officials say progress is being made in extinguishing the fire, but the total area affected is not yet known. A lodging list notes furnished flats at 18 Bland Street, first floor.
George Champ faces trial for robbing the Princes post office. Commissioner Maynard presides as Allen Blankenship and Ida Blankenship testify. Witnesses describe visits to the Thorn blacksmith shop and Champ’s attempts to borrow tools, plus 84 postage stamps found at Champ’s home. Defense counsel are Anderson Easly and A M Sutton.
The passenger train No 16 due at 9 10 am arrived about 6 pm after a freight wreck at Glen Lyn. Seven cars were wrecked one into the river and six piled on the track. Wrecking crews from Bluefield and Radford worked the scene. A suspected tramp vanished in the debris.
Engineers Bullengee Roberts and Donahue visited the Danny TELEs GRAPH yesterday and stated that the wan Henry Ubland or Charles Worthing ton, who claimed to be an engineer on the Ulrich Valley, was never employed as an engineer on this road. He was never heard of here until the newspaper articles appeared.

New Haven railroad officials say Berkshire freight and express are out of Mott Haven yard with new men. None of the strikers returned to work. Yards blocked with cars as non union workers remain scarce. Freight on the line is effectively tied up. James Wynn, Oxford blacksmith, nearly buried alive after funeral and casket opening revealed apparent movement. he revived and is under treatment.
Knoxville Tenn Nov 21 Maj F K Huger former Knoxville division superintendent of the Southern Railway has been named superintendent of the Seaboard Air Line second division in charge of 600 miles of road.
A writer from Wempseytown Pennsylvania promotes a “king's new life” medicine claiming to cure constipation stomach and liver troubles. The ad notes a 25 cent price and urges readers to buy at all drug stores.
Deputy Sheriff Lilly opens an office three doors west of Huff Andrews Tuomas and urges all taxpayers to come forward. The money is due and should be paid at once to settle accounts.

Wheeling W V November 21 Judge Goff telegram denies contesting the United States Senate seat held by N B Scott. The field narrows to Scott and Schmulbach with Caldwell as a possible entrant. Caldwell, from Guyandotte and Huntington, heads timber and mercantile interests and majors in the Guyandotte Valley Railroad project.
In New York on November 21 Mrs Elizabeth Dale faced Recorder Staton in Hoboken court charged with murdering her five year old daughter. The plea reading caused the defendant to collapse, and she was taken to a hospital for treatment.
In Ravenswood West Virginia on November 21 five men spent two hours attempting to blow open the Jackson County Bank safe but only damaged the chest leaving the money box intact. Three locals who found the burglars at the scene were held at gunpoint until the escape. A short medical testimonial from Seymour Webb of Moira New York accompanies the report.
