The National Highway System bill designating a new I 73 74 corridor linking Bluefield to Detroit and Myrtle Beach passed Congress and goes to President Clinton. West Virginia stands to gain about 92 million including 55 million for the state, with 32 million from NHS funds and 4.8 million additional.

Columbia/HCA owns St. Luke's in Bluefield and about 334 other facilities and has shown interest in adding BRMC and Princeton Community Hospital to its portfolio. The meeting spurred renewed discussion on a possible sale.
