A Buchanan County Virginia miner at Dominion Coal Co. No. 1 Mine in Vansant was killed Wednesday afternoon when a mine roof caved in around 1 p.m. The miner, identity withheld, was operating a continuous miner. Authorities from the Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy and the Mine Safety and Health Administration have been notified.
