Huerta allies report the Mexican leader expects intervention by the United States while the exodus of Americans from Mexico continues. Officials warn of a possible US blockade as 15,000 rifles ship to Vera Cruz and Congress preparations proceed amid diplomatic activity in Mexico City.
The Industrial Workers of the World endorsed the eight hour day strike by stationary firemen in textile mills who walked out yesterday. The IWW also pledged sympathy strikes if firemen proceed, despite opposition from the Central Labor Union and AFL. Mills remained open though handicapped as workers walkout.
Representatives of federal trainmen on the Sunset Central lines and assistant general manager Ward agreed to begin joint conferences Monday in Houston to adjust grievances behind the recent strike. The engineer fireman conductor and trainmen committees are summoned to participate. normal traffic has been restored.
Ohio county Wheeling report shows 274 watches and clocks for a population of about 60,000. The town of Fulton with 2,000 residents reportedly has no clocks. West Virginia levies watches and clocks as personal property for assessment. County Assessor William Hawke released the findings on November 18.
General Manager T O Sullivan of Manufacturers Light and Heat Co Pittsburg told the public service commission in Wheeling that gas in the state would be exhausted within ten years. He argued this supported a rate increase for northern West Virginia towns.

Harry K. Thaw remains in custody in Concord New Hampshire as Judge Edgar Aldrich weighs a constitutional issue raised in a supplementary habeas corpus petition. The state of New York and Thaw’s lawyers agreed to suspend the writ and proceed with a briefing schedule with ten days for New York to respond and five days for Thaw to reply.

Acton Alabama November 18 an explosion in No 2 mine of the Acton Fuel and Iron Company entombed between twenty five and forty miners. By 9 pm seven dead had been removed and three other mines had been rescued alive. The mine employs both white and black workers. Officials rushed from Birmingham with Mine Inspector Nesbit and surgeons. The cause was not determined and removal work continued.
