Mystery woman from Bedford County vanishes from mountain cabin

The woman identified as Lizie Martin, a Tazewell County native, disappeared Friday from a secluded Jeters Chapel Mountain cabin in Bedford County. Officials found the cabin empty, and relatives insist she is Lizie, tying her to a history of institutional care and prior furloughs in Lynchburg.

Blue Cross Rate Increase Denied by West Virginia Official

Charleston AP state Insurance Commissioner Samuel Weese denied Blue Cross Hospital Services Inc. a rate hike claiming overpayments to hospitals. The denial affects about 206000 subscribers in southern West Virginia across 18 hospitals, with 100000 in community plans also impacted. Body Of Dead Man Discovered In Mercer County

The body of a 48 year old man was found in a mobile home near the Green Tree section of Mercer County and was taken to a Princeton hospital for an autopsy. Trooper F E Thomas said the victim’s name would be released after next of kin notification and that a medical examiner would determine the cause of death, with poisoning not ruled out.
