Dividends and Wage Boosts Drive Holiday Spending Rise

Street Car Men Will Drive Company's New Buses Here

Six Tri City Traction employees are trained to operate the new 23 passenger buses. Four buses arrived November 10 and are stored at Popular Street car barns. Drivers with experience are reassigned from other lines as service plans a Bland and Federal street loop with an auxiliary unit for repairs.

Body of Gloria Hood Found After Week Long Search

Bendix plant shut down after sit down strike orders

Winter Sun Clears Ice From West Virginia Highways

A warm sun melted ice on state roads after a heavy snow storm. Don ald Messenger, 9, of Oakland California, was seriously injured when struck by a truck while sled riding near Terra Alta. Roads were blocked on Sewell Mountain with 30 to 40 motorists marooned. Snow depths ranged from a half inch to four or five inches across counties. Davis saw 14 below zero. Snow plows and sand were mobilized. 250 plows stood by for further calls.

Interstate Commission to Hear Bus Merger

The Interstate Commerce Commission will begin hearings November 27 on the consolidation of Greyhound system affiliates. Proposals aim to liquidate assets of more than twenty lines and merge into eight large operating units led by Pacific Greyhound in San Francisco and others in Lexington, Fort Worth, Charleston, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, and Cleveland.
