Eight Die Over Weekend Across West Virginia Highways

State police report eight highway deaths over the weekend across West Virginia. Victims include Mark Balzano, 22, of Parkersburg, and Lewis Spence, 57, of Spotsylvania, Virginia. Balzano died in a one car crash on Route 2 near Ben's Run, while Spence died from injuries suffered the day before on Route 80 in McDowell County. Additional fatalities include Carl Adkins, 18, Huntington. Christy Cronette, 17, Lavalette. John Simons, 18, Davisville. Richard G. Murphy, 20, Wheeling. Robert L. McCarthy, 23, Wheeling. Also identified is 82-year-old Frank Humbles, Institute, burned victim in a U.S. 60 crash near Crawley. The wreckage of the Institute victim’s car was found after unburned articles were located.

Princeton Council OKs Boundary Annexation

Princeton City Council final reading annexed about 24 acres along Thornton Avenue and Silver Springs into the city limits. The session also proclaimed Dec 5-11 as Princeton Tiger Week to honor Princeton High School football, with plans for sewer extension and city services once approved by authorities.
