In Philippi West Virginia on November 15 George Flower Okey Harvey Asa and Jud Soumers and Silas Fitzwater are on trial charged with wrecking a freight train on the Baltimore and Ohio line. Obstructions were placed on the track at a dangerous point to wreck a passenger train but a freight train struck the obstruction and derailed near Secliong.
A natural gas explosion on Carson Street in Pittsburg injured three people seriously, one fatally, and wrecked a building this morning. The incident occurred November 15.

He received a five year sentence in the State penitentiary and faced an appeal after a motion for a new trial was overruled. Beatin broke down after the verdict and is jailed on bail while papers for appeal are prepared. Mrs Beahm supported her husband throughout the trial and maintained his innocence.
In San Francisco on November 15 Col Frank Hastings, a retired merchant, announced plans to erect the world’s tallest flagstaff in Golden Gate Park. A 300 foot pole will bear an American flag 3200 feet long with three foot stars, funded by Hastings with about 4000 dollars remaining after costs.
In St Paul on November 15 sources report Senator Cusiman Kk Davis remains critically ill with a high fever unresponsive to treatment. Dr J L Murphy of Chicago who operated on the Senator’s feet has returned to St Paul for further consultations with local physicians.
