Community Christmas Tree sign-ups begin Friday in Bluefield
Volunteers for the Community Christmas Tree campaign announce the 101st Little Jimmie sign-up days on Friday 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bluefield city auditorium Stadium Drive. Parents must present a child's insurance card. The event, sponsored by the Bluefield Daily Telegraph, will provide a gift bag to hundreds of local children at the party Thursday December 20 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the city auditorium.

Bluefield Board Approves Police Pay Increase to Retain Officers
The Bluefield City Board of Directors approved a pay raise for police to retain experienced officers who might leave for higher wages elsewhere.
