Civic events and church circles set for this evening with multiple hosts and locations. United Daughters of the Confederacy meet at the Elks home at 7 30 p.m. First Baptist Church circles convene from 7 30 to 7 45 p.m. Methodist Men host a dinner and prayer service with speaker William Sanders. Bazaar proceeds aim to reduce the church mortgage.
Mrs George Evans hosts the Marion Lela Norris Guild gathering at her Eleventh Street Bowling Addition home tonight at 8 pm. The St Agnes Guild of the Church of the Heavenly Rest meets tomorrow at 7 30 pm at Mrs Douglas W Blevins home with Mrs John McKay as co host. Members urged to attend as this is the final meeting before next Saturday's annual bazaar chaired by Mrs Clyde Averill. committee chairs asked to report to finalize plans. The Young Adult class of the First Christian Church will meet after the 7 30 pm service tonight. members urged to attend.
The Princeton Garden Club convenes at 2:30 PM at 114 Circle Drive, home of Mrs. D J Bailey. Co hosts Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Luther Hale, with Mrs. I M P as leader. A guest speaker will discuss Christ Flowers.
The Church of the Heavenly Rest hosts its annual bazaar and luncheon next Saturday November 17 from noon to 6 p.m. at the church Parish House on Mercer Street. Mrs Clyde Averill chairs with Mrs Margaret Whitehead as assistant. Cooperating groups participate.
Miss Dotty Pennington, daughter of Mr and Mrs G E Pennington, is named queen for Princeton high homecoming football game. A photo caption last week incorrectly listed her parents as Harman.
NBC Matinee Theatre will air Savrola Sir Winston Churchill's only novel starring Sarah Churchill and Lamont Johnson Thursday afternoon 3 to 4 on Channel 6 WHIS TV. The week also features Love Marriage and Five Thousand Dollars, Betty Aliv's World War II British agent tale, a Braille founder teleplay, and a French Channel island romance story.
Singer Julius LaRosa will appear on NBC Band Stand with Les Brown and Pee Wee Hunt, emceed by Bert Parks, at 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Channel 6 WHIS TV. He competes with his former boss Arthur Godfrey whose morning show airs simultaneously on another network.

In Tazewell Virginia the Lions Club civic improvement committee funds and installs new metal street signs to aid mail delivery and locate properties. The project honors local history with names such as Pine Street and Railroad Avenue and includes a courthouse yard display showing county traffic fatalities with a green light for normal conditions and red when a fatality occurs.
Radford College of Woman's Division of VPI invites alumnae to Homecoming on November 16 and 17. Friday features a Carousel Theatre program. Saturday includes registration, a coffee hour, luncheon, class reunions, Pocahontas Hall dedication, residence hall open house, and a German Dance Club format. Mary Osterndorf and Dr. Logan C. Osterndorf speak. President C. K. Martin Jr. welcomes attendees.
Nat King Cole, whose records total about 50 million in sales, launches a weekly NBC program airing Mondays at 7 30 pm on Channel 6. The October term of Mercer county criminal court heads to a close with a busy docket this week. Tuesday includes Ella Kay Perry and David Irving on an involuntary manslaughter indictment related to a Bluefield gunshot death, plus two probation hearings. Wednesday covers Charles Walker Jack Heston and Billy Saunders maiming Cal Walkup at Willowton on April 28. Thursday features James Dunford Jr with grand larceny copper wire from a Coaldale mountain stripping operation. Friday lists Joel Aubrey Richardson for murder indictment in the slaying of Marvin Heston at Willowton last July.
A Pine Hall Park delegation from the Seyler Subdivision urged the Tazewell County Board and a Virginia Department of Highways representative to adopt and upgrade a secondary road serving their area. The meeting in Tazewell courthouse included Supervisors Dan W. Lynch and James B. Bailey. Final approval of the budget for the current fiscal year was given and Welfare Superintendent Robert Carroll was authorized to buy a State Highway Police radio for 150 dollars.

TAZEWELL Va The Tazewell County Young Democrat Club will host Congressman W Pat Jennings at its regular meeting in Tazewell County at 7 p m Saturday.

On the Princeton Oakvale road four persons were treated at Memorial hospital after a Saturday evening crash at 6 p.m. The drivers were Charles Alfred Browning and Garland W Hughes with a third car driven by Boyd Fulcher. Injuries included neck lacerations and a severe facial wound requiring thirty two stitches. Garland Hughes faces possible reckless driving charges. Leroy Kessell investigated.
A 1953 Chevrolet sedan driven by Granville Lee Graham 27 of McComas overturned on Beckley road north of Princeton on Saturday night about 9 30. Pauline Graham was unconscious and hospitalized. Dolly Cox of Bluefield had multiple cuts. Frances Vernon Taylor and Johnnie Gilley were uninjured passengers.
The lower floor of Tazewell National Bank in Tazewell Virginia has been redecorated for stockholders and groups. It includes kitchen and dining facilities for luncheons and meetings. Lions and Rotarians will use the room, with Mrs. Ralph Hawkins handling meals. The Jeffersonville Woman's Club plans a style show there on Thursday evening November 15. Civic groups may reserve space for about 100 diners or 200 audience members.
The Pocahontas Industrial Council for Education formed a Tazewell County science fair to be held at Tazewell High in March. The event aims to spark interest in biology physics and mathematics among students from eighth grade through high school with plans for district and Roanoke College exhibitions and regional fairs in Bland Mercer McDowell and Wyoming counties.
