Friday in London Gina Tolleson 21 of Spartanburg S C won the 40th Miss World title at the London Palladium. First runner up Siobhan McClafferty Miss Ireland second, Sharon Luenso Gonzales Miss Venezuela third. Tolleson earned 19000 dollars plus a 59000 dollar work contract. She hopes to be a broadcaster after studies and is trained in ballet jazz and tap with hobbies including horse riding and gardening.

Florida woman freed as murder charges dropped in Virginia case

Welch to Host 72nd Veterans Day Parade in Welch West Virginia
The Welch Veterans Day parade, sponsored by American Legion Post 8, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with about 90 units. Man dies when pinned by truck on incline
Roy Mutter, 34, of Raven, Virginia, was killed Thursday morning when attempting to jump start a coal truck on a downhill slope. The Ford rollback truck rolled onto the blocks and pinned him between the two trucks. the other driver was uninjured.
