Nixon Wins Record Landslide Victory Over McGovern
President Nixon secured a nationwide landslide with about 63 percent of the vote to McGovern’s 36 percent as Democrats won Senate control while Republicans fell short of a House turnover. McGovern conceded from Sioux Falls sending congratulations to Nixon. Partial results showed Nixon ahead with 20,551,649 votes to 11,791,672.
