New Trial Ordered For Former Baker Assistant

Only 1 Escapee Still At Large From Sunday Jail Break

Five escapees from the McDowell County jail break were identified. Melvin Frazier, 62, of War, was captured Monday afternoon. Eddie, Roy, and Jimmy Bolen, all from War, were arrested at a relative’s home. Curtis Beavers of Jaeger remains at large, having served three days of a six month sentence.

Hoffa settles back tax claims in U S Court

Teamsters President James R. Hoffa reached a settlement in federal court on five civil income tax claims totaling over 100000. He must pay 2437.62 for 1952 and 1956 6.
