Richter quake near Richlands tied to mine collapse
Richlands mayor Ken Wyser said he felt no tremor as news of a 4.3 magnitude quake near Richlands surfaced. The USGS suggested the event, recorded at 12:53 p.m. on November 2, likely came from a local abandoned coal mine collapse, a theory Wyser partly endorsed.
