Alligator Found Under Escalator at O’Hare Airport
A one foot long alligator was discovered by a maintenance worker under an escalator in Terminal 3 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Police said the reptile, in poor health, was captured and placed in the care of the Chicago Herpetological Society. Authorities hope to relocate it to an out of state alligator farm once cleared. No injuries occurred.

Family donates railroad relics to Bluefield
The Ratcliffe family downsizing moved a collection of railroad artifacts to Bluefield including an operational coal burning caboose stove, three signal tower ornaments, Norfolk & Western marked coal buckets, shovels and locks plus the caboose smokestack. James M. Ratcliffe Jr. recalls his father’s work at Hemphill and the steam locomotives fueling there. Bramwell Firefighters Battle Brush Fire on Hatfield McCoy Trail
Mercer County fire fighters were called out Sunday morning after an off duty Washington Del firefighter reported a brush fire on the Hatfield McCoy Trail. The 911 call came in about 7:50 a.m. and was transferred from Tazewell County to Mercer County. Chief Joe Miller said crews found a large pile of bulldozed wood debris and responded with three trucks.
