Bluefield Virginia voters face a contest in the Fifth District as incumbent Democrat John H. Tate Jr. seeks reelection against Republican Barnes Lee Kidd, a former delegate who defeated Tate in 1995. Tate, 58, is a Marion attorney raised in Bluefield.
