A crippled hawk has been placed at Roanoke Roanoke area Mill Mountain Zoo where staff provide care and visitors can observe the bird. The transfer completes a relocation from a prior sanctuary and marks a new chapter for the bird and the zoo.
In Danville Virginia Popeye and Dana Gentry two year old Great Danes enjoy a new eight foot square two story cottage with a sun deck and shingled roof built by owner Patrick Gentry. The dogs adapted to stairs after initial challenges as the owner plans further improvements.
National Weather Service predicts sunny weather today with daytime highs in the lower 70s. Tonight should be partly cloudy with cooler lows expected, as the forecast notes some lingering cloudiness and mild winds.
Bluefield hosts the largest local train fair as the Pocahontas Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society displays model trains at the Bluefield Youth Center on November 10 and 11.
