E H Sudduth Dies Following Norfolk and Western Projects
E H Sudduth prominent coal operator lumberman and banker died at his Lynchburg Virginia home after heart trouble. He helped construct the Norfolk and Western line from Radford to Pocahontas in 1881 and from Graham to Pounding Mills on the Clinch Valley. He was born April 12 1853 and left a large family and business legacy including the First National Bank of Welch and several coal and timber interests. The funeral will be held at 2 PM at Walton Sudduth’s home with burial in Maple Park cemetery.
