Wrong-way driver killed on U S Route 460
On Sunday a wrong-way driver, Jerry Lane Williams, 58, of Bluefield died after colliding with Elizabeth Lester Foley, 47, of Princeton, on U S Route 460 near Mercer Mall. Foley was seriously injured and extricated by jaws of life. Williams was pronounced dead on arrival at Princeton Community Hospital. Deputy Matt Ashe cited westbound travel in the eastbound lane and said the incident remains under investigation with witnesses swerving to avoid the vehicle. Foley was taken to Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
