Mercer County Methodist Adult Fellowship will host a dinner meeting at Spanishburg Methodist Church on Monday November 6 at 7 p.m. Members and guests should reserve with the church or Rev. Ira Hill.
Weather permitting a patio sale will be held on Saturday November 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1816 Honaker Avenue in Princeton. Proceeds benefit tuition for a worthy college student.
James B. Puckett of Bradshaw is a patient at Veterans Hospital Beckley West Virginia in Room 335. He serves as quartermaster for VFW Post 7658 Bradshaw.
Lorraine Fowlkes announced to Xi Beta Zeta at the second October meeting that the BSP Christmas banquet would be December 11 at 6 30 p.m. in the Hotel West Virginian ballroom with the program titled Christmas Melodies. Mrs James Mattox led the meeting and served as ways and means chairman.
Judy Arbster Debbie Warren and Karen Stafford are three of 16 contestants for Mercer County Junior Miss. The pageant sponsored by the Princeton Jaycees will be held Sunday November 5 at 2 PM in the Princeton High School auditorium with tickets sold by contestants or Princeton Jaycees.
Mary Branch Church of God in Matoaka hosts a bean supper Saturday November 4 from 6 to 8 PM. Proceeds support the church building project.
Xi Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority held a Halloween party at the Keystone Community Center with Alpha Tau chapter guests. A brief business meeting noted the Christmas dinner and dance on December 2 at Gary Country Club. games led by Patty Boyd and others awarded gifts. Four human blood types are recognized A, B, AB and O.
New Hope Rangers 4 H Club selects officers for the coming year at the October meeting. Ann King is president and Dennis King is vice president. Ricky McPherson serves as secretary, Charles J. Mills Jr. treasurer, Ralph Mills reporter, Steve McPherson song leader, Rosa Juba and Randy McPherson game leaders. A hike is planned for November at Opal King's home.
