Skeleton in 1870s casket donated to Springfield museum
A rare find arrived at the Springfield Museum of Funeral Customs a human skeleton inside an 1870s era glass topped casket. Director Jon Austin described the skeleton missing a skull cap and several wrist bones and wired to the casket allowing jaw movement. The casket was found in a Lithia building once used as a lodge for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

One dies in crash at Cedar Bluff Route 460 Bypass
Roy Breeding 78 of Doran died in a single vehicle crash on the Route 460 Bypass in Cedar Bluff Virginia. Police say his 1994 Chevrolet pickup ran off the road shoulder skidded across lanes and ended on its side. Breeding was ejected and not wearing a seat belt. Virginia State Police investigated and reconstructed the scene.
