Walker Pleasant Punch Clark of Bramwell and Mollie Smith Clark of Bowen Lane are highlighted as a longstanding couple. McDowell car crash victim identified in Abingdon man
Police identified 39 year old James D. Blankenship of Abingdon as the victim of a Friday two vehicle head on crash in McDowell County. A second woman remained in serious condition at Charleston Area Medical Center after the collision. Blankenship died on arrival at Welch.
Death of Bluefield 18-year-old under investigation
Bluefield authorities seek autopsy results for Hope Taylor found dead Friday at a friend's house. The 1997 Bluefield High graduate's body was sent to the state medical examiner in Charleston. Police say all possibilities are open as investigators, including Det. C.S. Myers and Officers M.A. Slyvester and G.W. Lightfoot, continue the inquiry with results not expected for one to two weeks.
