One Killed In Beer Truck Smashup

Pittsburgh detectives disclosed a cold blooded plan to rob and murder Ambridge tavern keeper Mike Ciamacco. Suspects Thomas Sparks William Brown and Sylvan Nickel were detained after a robbery spree. Brown revealed the plot to seize Ciamacco as he left the tavern and burn him in a lime filled grave on a Robinson Township hillside. Ciamacco, who has an artificial leg, was unaware of the men.

South Charleston police report the arrest of Dunbar men Ralph Anderson Coffman 21 and Richard Carlton Berlin 37 for noon hour robberies. They face charges in the Local Loan and Finance Co robbery of about 700 dollars on September 27 and Berlin is also accused in a Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co heist of 443.18 dollars last Friday. Berlin admits the South Charleston thefts and the drive-in theater cashier robbery of about 90 dollars on September 3. Both were arrested at their industrial plant jobs where Coffman was a junior draftsman and Berlin a clerk.
