Slow Freight Saved Lives in Railroad Plot
Fairmont West Virginia October 31 Joseph Raber a former Baltimore and Ohio employee from Fayette County Pennsylvania was arrested at Mannington by the sheriff and a detective for attempting to wreck a passenger train by placing cross ties on the track. The slow freight struck the obstruction first narrowly averting disaster. Raber was discharged by the company and allegedly vowed to get even.
