London May 29 reliable air sources said the German air arm has been whittled down in numbers manpower and quality below its 1941 peak. First line strength is about 5000 fighters and bombers, 1500 less than spring 1941 western front capability. Observers note loss of experienced crews but improved planes like Me 109F1 F2 and Focke Wulf 190H with Dornier Do 217 bomber. Allied airforces now field planes of at least equal quality.

Registration Time Extended to June 30 for West Virginia Voters
Secretary William S. O'Brien ordered a third extension of the deadline to close permanent registration books to June 30 to allow armed forces personnel to qualify for balloting. He warned no further extensions would be granted and said counties would have July to prepare for the August 4 primary. The extension mainly aids absentee registrations. county clerks have largely finished door-to-door canvasses.

The Rev Joseph Ely Graham a longtime teacher and minister died at Stickleysville Virginia at age 84. He was born in Pennington Gap Virginia and ordained a Methodist minister at 18. He is survived by his widow Molly Rebecca Lawson Graham of West Graham two daughters Callie Victoria Moore of Richmond and Seresta Quillin Honaker of Richmond three sons Olin Patton Graham Bas comb Sleep Graham and Joseph Robert Graham of Covington Virginia.

Graham High School graduation marks largest class
Following the Friday commencement at Graham high school and three other town schools teachers depart for home. Large crowds attended the exercises as the senior class filed in gowns to receive parchments. The Graham class numbered sixty, the largest in the school's history. Robert Lane Anderson of Marion delivered a high order address and did not disappoint his reputation.
