Negro held in jail for transporting ram
Julius Ward a 24 year old Negro is jailed on charges of transporting 6 gallons of moonshine whiskey. Ward was arrested Sunday afternoon by Chief of Police C N Wilson near Giles street minutes after alighting from a westbound freight train. He will be arraigned in municipal court tonight.

Robert Cochran a 23 year old Pocahontas Fuel employee is in critical condition at Bluefield sanitarium after an accidental discharge of a .32 caliber revolver at his McComas home. The bullet penetrated his stomach and intestines before exiting his back and an emergency operation followed admission. He lives with his sister in McComas and works at the Sagamozoe operation of Pocahontas Fuel company.
