Conditions of the Past Two Years Confirmed in Mining Talks
After nearly two weeks of talks, coal operators and United Mine Workers in the Pittsburg district reaffirmed the wage scale in effect since 1906 and made it operative for two more years. About 35 000 miners are affected as settlements remove wage disputes and allow freer mining though ore shipments to lakes may be delayed. Still another notice announces a license application to sell liquor at 11 Snefield Avenue, Inefield, Mercer County, from May 1, 1908 to June 30, 1909.
