In Princeton circuit court today two trials proceed with one jury already deliberating Belcher saw mill case for 25 000 while another shows Hager versus Barbee over false arrest and malicious prosecution. Hager spent a night in Bluefield jail after a false theft warrant. Sherman recanted. An eleven man jury remains in the Belcher matter after a juror was excused.

Rotary Members Hear Interesting Address
The Concord faculty member Prof. L. B. Graybeal spoke to the Rotary club on physiology. He contrasted Oriental and Occidental minds and urged kinder treatment of children, noting fear and sorrow should not be inflicted. An invitation to a regional civic clubs jamboree in Bluefield and Princeton June 13–14 was announced, with 1,900 scouts expected. J. Paroles Granted in Local Court Cases
Three parole orders were entered Friday by Special Judge Walter W. Ross. The paroled men Robert Hurley and Cecil Wyrick had served thirty day jail terms for liquor possession and faced $100 fines. Theodore Sutherland, colored, was paroled for two years on condition that he aid in support of a child.

Community dips 200 head as Elgood builds cattle parasite vat
The Elgood community completes a 2000 gallon dipping vat on B Shumate’s farm to eradicate external parasites in cattle sheep and hogs. Over 200 head dipped first day and 500 expected as more stock are processed with a second dipping planned in ten to fourteen days. The project funded under the county extension program aims to serve future generations and reduce manual dipping risk.

Mrs Richardson Dies After Twin Birth at Princeton
Mrs W R Richardson aged 36 of Harrison Street died in Princeton hospital one hour after the birth of twins. Cerebral embolism was the cause. The infants died as well. Funeral arrangements were delayed awaiting arriving sisters. She is survived by her husband and several sisters.

Herndon resigns as McDowell County Prosecuting Attorney
I C Herndon resigned as prosecuting attorney of McDowell County effective immediately.
