Norton man arrested in Pocahontas for kidnapping and marrying stepdaughter
John Scott of Norton was arrested in Pocahontas after deserting his wife and running away with his 15-year-old stepdaughter. He bought skirts for the girl, and the pair registered as husband and wife at a hotel. Mrs. Scott and Norton authorities were notified, and she plans to prosecute to the full extent of the law.
