Democratic accountability in FBI briefing on hijack risk
An analysis argues the August briefing on hijack risks based on 1998 intelligence did not prove presidential negligence. It notes FAA cautions and FBI concerns, including a pre Sept. 11 Arizona agent warning about Middle Eastern men at flight schools, but stresses no direct links to attacks. Congress should probe why details weren’t combined, while avoiding partisan witch hunts.

It recommends keeping emergency kits with harnesses or carriers, water, food, bowls, litter for cats, and medical records. Evacuees should avoid leaving animals behind and may need boarding, with facilities often requiring records. More details at HelpingAnimals.com.
