Bee Bailey, a Pocahontas division brakeman, was struck by a pilot as two locomotives moved near an overhead bridge in the railroad yard. He suffered head wounds and bruises along his left side and arm but doctors later deemed injuries not serious. Bailey, 22, recently joined the railroad and is sibling to Mrs. Lewis Bailey of this city and son of Daniel Bailey of Sinks Grove.

Eighteen year old Miss Esther Miller died at her parents home in Pocahontas from tonsillitis after a short illness. Survived by her parents Mr and Mrs B Miller one sister and three brothers including Abe Miller who resides in this city. Remains were taken to Baltimore for interment, with about twenty sorrowing friends accompanying to Bluefield.
