Court weighs revisiting excessive force verdict in West Virginia case
Southern District of West Virginia Judge David A. Faber heard arguments on a motion to reconsider a civil jury verdict in an excessive force case from Princeton. Eddie Blankenship, 25, alleged officers G A Syres and T A Bailey used excessive force during a Dec 13 1998 arrest at Cheers. The jury found Syres liable for excessive force, Bailey not liable, and awarded a token one dollar to Blankenship.
