Convention Adjourns After Sympathy Resolution Adopted

The criminal court granted adjournment and allowed use of the courthouse for the convention. Proceedings were forwarded to county papers and to the Bluefield Telegraph and Wheeling Intelligencer. A resolution of sympathy for Hon. W W Whyte in his illness was unanimously adopted before adjournment.

Rival of Santos Dumont Dies in Airship Explosion

In Paris on May 12 Senor Agusto Severo, with his wife and seven children among hundreds watching, perished when his airship exploded over La Piax. The balloon caught fire and blew up, tearing him apart while the engineer burned midair. Severo died before his charred body hit the ground.

Mining Situtation in Shamokin Pa Shows Wide Coal Strike

Forty five collieries in the ninth mining district are tied up with twenty thousand sixty five employees enforcing a suspension from the Scranton convention.
