Walter Crabtree 35 of Romney West Virginia died on the gallows at the state penitentiary in Moundsville. The execution marked the first under Warden Scroggins. Crabtree refused a last word, then said good night as the hood was placed. He killed H. Carter Inskeep, Ben E. Miller, and Edgar Woolford in December last year.
